Bollywood Stars Who Appeared Nude
Though Indian films do not show significant amount of sex or nudity as compared to Western movies, there are a few Bollywood stars who literally appeared bare-skinned. In this article, we will tackle some of these stars who have the guts to go in the buff. Below are some of them.
Simi Garewal. Simi’s comeback from England has given her a fresh lucky start to bag a prominent role on some prestigious movies of her generation. Both of her starred movies that are released on the same year 1972 entitled Mera Naam Joker (a Raj Kapoor film) and Siddhartha (a movie adapted from H. Hesse’s novel) have gained no commercial success when it comes to her peers. Also, these two films shed much of her quintessential whites and everything else as well.
Protina Bedi. A distinguished danseuse and a Bohemian wife to Kabir Bedi, Bollywood star Protina ran undraped on the beautiful beach of Juhu. This act was done as part of the promotional strategy to launch Cine Blitz way back in 1974. Her nude appearance has somehow made the promotion campaign worked. She made the headlines, by the way.
Dimple Kapadia. Her scene with Rishi Kapoor in the 1985 movie Saagar goes this way: A young village lass go for a dip in the clear blue ocean. After doing so, she grabbed a sarong to wrap herself. However, upon noticing Rishi at a distance who has been gazing at her through the draping weeds above him, she accidentally lose footing resulting to get her sarong unwrapped for a split second. This act, for many, has qualified for at least a half-monty juncture in Bollywood.
Mandakini. Another Bollywood star has appeared daring in the 1995 movie “Ram Teri Ganga Maili.” Though a cliché, her nude appearance here has remained one of Indian cinema’s bare-breasted moments. Through this blockbuster, Mandakini has become a household name. However, though savoring her stardom at that time, she quickly vanished from the scene following allegations being D. Ibrahim’s scarlet woman.
Apart from those mentioned above, there are more Bollywood movies who went bared. This includes Deepa Sahi in the 1993 Maya Memsaab, Mamta Kulkarni in 1993 Stardust cover, and Anu Agarwal in Mani Kaul’s 1994 film The Cloud Door. Furthermore, M. Soman and M. Sapre also went naked in the 1995 campaign of Tuff shoes, Hemant Birje in 1997 Divine Lovers, Helen Brodie in Jag Mundhra’s Monsoon in 2001, and lastly, Nandana Sen in the 2008 film Rang Rasiya.
